Colin J. Kegler
AB '97
A native of Cincinnati, Colin Kegler graduated from Harvard in 1997 with a BA in Biology. After a brief stint as an IT specialist at Harvard, he has dedicated the past 16 years to working as a senior software engineer in the Boston area, primarily in health and bioengineering.
Kegler has demonstrated a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion as an advocate for the University’s diverse communities. A longtime member and supporter of the Coalition for a Diverse Harvard, he also belongs to the Harvard Black Alumni Society and the Harvard Gender and Sexuality Caucus. Kegler's commitment includes fundraising for the Harvard College Fund and other Harvard-related initiatives.
Kegler firmly believes that "inclusion and belonging are core, non-negotiable values that Harvard should embrace." He is a staunch supporter of Ethnic Studies at Harvard, advocating for an increased institutional commitment, and believes that Harvard should "honor, support and engage Native communities." In the wake of the Supreme Court's affirmative action decision, he believes Harvard "legally can and should continue to pursue diversity with outreach and recruitment." During his tenure on the HAA Board, he actively worked to implement diversity and equity initiatives within alumni communities and Shared Interest Groups (SIGs).
