For her efforts, she was recognized in Fortune’s 2018 “40 Under 40 Rising Business Leaders.” She is currently the chairwoman of Change.org, the world's largest platform for social change.
Born in Detroit and raised in Flint, Michigan, Sud witnessed the devastating impacts on health, education, and business when the auto industry left town; as a leader, she carries with her this knowledge of how businesses impact families and communities. Sud also works to address tech burnout, regularly soliciting employee feedback and making policy changes based on their needs and opinions.
Sud attributes her ambition to her “traditional immigrant upbringing” and her desire to honor sacrifices made by her parents, who immigrated from India. She accentuates the importance of diverse perspectives and often speaks out about her intersectional experiences as a woman of color in leadership.” In her 20s she felt “a lot of pressure to assimilate … to what I thought traditional leaders looked like”; but now, she realizes, “What makes me different is a huge advantage. And it’s my responsibility to use it.”
